For undergrads eyeing full-time roles in investment banking upon graduation, landing a summer internship after their junior year is a must, as the majority of full-time offers are extended to summer interns. Most banking institutions kick off their recruitment for junior summer internships in the spring semester of the sophomore year, with the first round of interviews taking place as early as April or May—over 12 months prior to the internship that follows the junior year. This recruitment cycle moves forward on a rolling basis throughout the summer post-sophomore year and typically concludes around September or October of the junior year.

Despite the recruiting cycle beginning so early, students interviewing for internships are expected to be familiar with the various roles available to summer interns and to have some understanding of the skills and tools relevant to those positions. If you are confused about the process, we can help.  We offer internship consultations (paid) to help guide you through the process. Sign up today.
