A three-week virtual mentorship program, 2–3 hours a day, with applicants limited to two lines of business. Applications open in November for a December start, and in February for a March start.

2. Freshman Discovery
Who it’s for: Open to all first-years
A three-day virtual program starting in May, with applications opening in late March or early April. Students with limited prior exposure to financial services are particularly encouraged.

3. D1 Athlete Development Program

A virtual summer mentorship from June to August for NCAA Division I first-year or sophomore athletes, team managers and assistants. Applications open in March–April.

The GWI Scholars Program is now open to first-years and sophomores of all gender identities, including male-identifying students. Final-deadline applicants hear back by early December.

How it works: All Scholars start with a unified curriculum that ends in late March 2027, then move into either the Online Intensive Program or the Summer Intensive Program in April 2027.

Important: You cannot apply directly to the Summer Intensive Program. Sophomores interested in it should apply to the Scholars Program and opt into the Internship Track. First-years aren’t eligible for the Internship Track.

A four-day program at Blackstone’s London headquarters with networking, skill-building and interactive sessions. It’s open to first- and second-year students graduating in 2028 or 2029 who are available for program dates in March–April 2027.

Bain & Company

1. Consulting Kickstart: Deadline October 5, 2026

An interactive virtual series for sophomores at four-year universities in the U.S. or Canada, held as three webinars in October. It covers Bain’s recruiting process and life at the firm. Applications close Monday, October 5 at 11:59 p.m. PST.

2. First Forward
Status: ◐ Expected | Who it’s for: First-gen or low-income
A 1.5-day in-person summit for sophomores who are the first in their families to attend college or grew up in a lower socio-economic household. Last cycle’s summit was held May 28–29 at six U.S. offices. Applicants answer questions through HireVue rather than a formal interview. Applications are currently closed.

3. Building Entrepreneurial Leaders (BEL)
Status: ◐ Expected | Who it’s for: See program page
An exploratory program Bain has run since 2009, giving undergraduates exposure to a consultant’s day-to-day work. Bain says its 2026 program is closed and details on 2027 are coming.

4. CREW (Connecting and Resourcing Empowered Women)

A program for sophomores focused on women leaders in strategy consulting. The 2026 program is closed; 2027 details are coming.

BCG Launch (Who it’s for: Open to all): A virtual series for undergraduates and non-MBA master’s students at U.S. or Canadian schools, covering consulting fundamentals and the Associate application process. SEO Career prepares undergraduates for summer internships on Wall Street and in real estate and technology. It’s open to first-years, sophomores and juniors of all majors with a 3.2 GPA (3.0 may be considered) and U.S. work authorization. Applications are reviewed year-round; the summer internship class typically closes in mid-April. First-years may apply before they have a college GPA.

How to Succeed

1. Start Early, and Earlier Than You Think

Several deadlines this cycle fall in late September and early October, before many students have settled into the school year. Build a tracking spreadsheet with every program, deadline and requirement, and set reminders two to three weeks ahead. Rolling programs fill as strong candidates apply, so applying the week a program opens often matters more than the posted deadline.

2. Research Each Firm

Understand the firm’s culture, recent deals or notable projects, what sets it apart, and why you specifically want to work there.

3. Prepare Your Materials

Resume tips: One page, clean formatting, quantified achievements, and a clear emphasis on leadership and teamwork. Tailor it for each application.

Questions to prepare:

“Why finance, consulting or this industry?”
“Why this firm?”
“Walk me through your resume.”
“Tell me about a leadership experience.”

4. Network Strategically

Attend information sessions, connect with alumni on LinkedIn, request short informational conversations, and send a thank-you note promptly afterward. Ask each person whether there’s anyone else you should speak with; that’s how one conversation turns into several.

5. Build Your Technical Foundation

Banking: Basic accounting, valuation fundamentals and current market awareness
Consulting: Case frameworks, mental math and structured problem-solving
Trading: Market awareness, quantitative reasoning and quick decision-making

6. Apply Broadly but Strategically

Don’t rely on one program. Apply to those that genuinely interest you, and prioritize quality over volume.
